Tout savoir pour pratiquer l'HYROX à Costa Teguise
Contexte
Costa Teguise, on the east coast of Lanzarote, offers an ideal setting for HYROX athletes looking to combine serious training with a relaxed island lifestyle. The town’s long promenades, mild climate and coastal paths create natural conditions for running, while nearby volcanic landscapes and open spaces are perfect for functional conditioning sessions. With trade winds and year-round sunshine, outdoor fitness is part of everyday life rather than a seasonal activity. Lanzarote has a strong reputation for endurance sports, especially triathlon, open-water swimming and cycling, and Costa Teguise benefits from this culture of performance. The local community is used to seeing athletes on the roads and seafront, which makes structured training for the HYROX race format feel very natural. The island’s geography, shaped by lava fields and Atlantic winds, encourages resilience and consistency, two key qualities for hybrid fitness. Historically a purpose-built resort, Costa Teguise has grown into a cosmopolitan hub that attracts active travellers and long-stay athletes. Its compact size allows quick access from accommodation to the seafront and training-friendly areas, while nearby Arrecife and the rest of Lanzarote provide additional sporting inspiration. For athletes preparing for upcoming HYROX competitions in Spain or across Europe, Costa Teguise stands out as a strategic base that blends coastal living, island identity and a strong endurance mindset.
Accès aux compétitions
Costa Teguise does not yet host an official HYROX race, but athletes can easily reach competitions on the Spanish mainland and elsewhere in Europe. Lanzarote Airport, just 15 minutes away by car or taxi, offers frequent flights to major Spanish cities that regularly appear on the HYROX calendar, including Barcelona, Madrid and Valencia. From the airport in these cities, event venues are typically accessible within 30–60 minutes by public transport or car. International access is also straightforward. Direct or connecting flights from Lanzarote link to key European hubs such as Lisbon, London, Manchester, Paris and Amsterdam, all of which are within roughly 3–4 hours of flight time. From these airports, HYROX venues are usually reachable by train or car in under 90 minutes, depending on the city. For those already on Lanzarote, rental cars and local buses connect Costa Teguise to the airport in under half an hour, making weekend HYROX trips to mainland Spain or nearby countries both efficient and realistic.
