About

Met Active is the health and fitness hub of Cardiff Metropolitan University, bringing together students, staff and local members in a friendly, performance-focused environment. Across two sites at Cyncoed and Llandaff, the gym combines extensive Technogym cardiovascular and resistance machines with free weights areas, functional training space and stretching zones for all-round strength and conditioning. Members also benefit from access to a 25m swimming pool at Cyncoed, sports halls and indoor courts, making it easy to mix gym work with wider athletic training. The timetable features group exercise classes such as indoor cycling, circuits, Pilates and yoga, alongside gym-based programmes like gym start sessions to help beginners train confidently. Supportive fitness staff are on hand to advise on safe technique and effective programmes, while discounted memberships for students and staff make regular training more accessible in the heart of Cardiff’s university community.
