Contexte

Ospel–Nederweert sits in the green heart of central Limburg, surrounded by fields, canals and the vast De Groote Peel nature reserve. Historically a farming and trading region between Brabant and the German border, Nederweert has long been a crossroads where influences mix. Amsterdam and Rotterdam are around 150–180 km away, about 1.5 to 2 hours by car and roughly similar by train with one or two changes via Weert or Eindhoven. Maastricht can usually be reached in about 70 km, taking under an hour by car and just over an hour by regional train. Thanks to the nearby German and Belgian borders, athletes also have easy access to HYROX events in cities like Düsseldorf, Cologne or Brussels. These are generally 1.5 to 2.5 hours by car, depending on the venue, and are also reachable by train with a connection in Eindhoven, Roermond or Maastricht. For longer trips, Eindhoven Airport, around 35 minutes by car, offers flights to other European HYROX host cities, making international races straightforward to combine with a short city break.
