Markelo is well placed for reaching official HYROX competitions in Dutch cities such as Amsterdam, Rotterdam and Maastricht. By car, Amsterdam is roughly 150 kilometers away, usually around a 1.5 to 2 hour drive, while Rotterdam can be reached in about 2 hours. Public transport is straightforward: buses connect Markelo to nearby rail hubs like Hengelo and Deventer, from which intercity trains run directly to major event cities. Cross-border access is also convenient. German hosts such as Düsseldorf and Hamburg are reachable by car in around 2 to 3.5 hours, and train routes via Hengelo or Enschede link to the German rail network. For longer trips, airports in Amsterdam, Düsseldorf and Münster/Osnabrück provide flight options to other European HYROX venues, keeping Markelo athletes well connected to the wider competition calendar.
