The closest Spanish options typically include HYROX events in cities such as Madrid, Barcelona and Valencia, which regularly appear on the official race calendar. From Burela, Madrid can be reached in roughly 6 to 7 hours by car via inland highways, or in about 5 to 6 hours using regional buses and train connections through cities like Lugo or A Coruña. Barcelona and Valencia are best accessed by plane from A Coruña or Santiago de Compostela airports, which are around 2 to 3 hours away by car from Burela. For international expansion, HYROX races in Lisbon and Porto in Portugal are also attractive. Porto lies about 5 to 6 hours away by car, using coastal motorways and a straightforward border crossing, while Lisbon is further south, normally around 8 to 9 hours by road or a short domestic flight from Galician airports. These options give Burela-based athletes multiple Spanish and Portuguese race destinations reachable by a mix of car, bus, train and plane.
