How to Register for a HYROX Race
Complete guide to registering for your first HYROX race. Learn about the registration process, pricing, tips for choosing your event, and mistakes to avoid.
Your First HYROX Registration
Registering for a HYROX race is straightforward but requires some preparation. Spots sell out quickly, especially for popular events like Paris, London, or Berlin. This guide walks you through step by step to secure your place.
Whether you're a beginner or an experienced athlete, the process is the same. The difference lies in choosing your format (Solo, Doubles, Relay) and category (Open or Pro).
Registration Steps
1. Create Your HYROX Account
Go to hyrox.com and create your athlete account. Enter your personal information, date of birth (for Age Group), and nationality. This account will be used for all your future races.
2. Choose Your Event
Check the race calendar on our event map or on hyrox.com. Consider the date, location, and preparation time you need (minimum 12 weeks recommended).
3. Select Your Format and Category
Choose between Solo, Doubles, or Relay. Then select Open (accessible to all) or Pro (heavier weights, Elite 15 qualification). For your first HYROX, we recommend Open.
4. Complete and Pay
Finalize your registration with your details and proceed to payment. You'll receive a confirmation email with your bib number and practical information.

Tips for Successful Registration
Prepare Before Opening
Account created, payment card ready, format and category decided. On opening day, you'll just need to click.
Register as a Team for Doubles/Relay
For team formats, one member registers and enters the partners' details. Coordinate before opening day.
Choose a Strategic Time Slot
If possible, avoid the first and last time slots of the day. Mid-morning slots often offer the best conditions (warmed-up atmosphere, no final rush).
Plan Your Preparation
Don't register for an event in 4 weeks if you've never run 8 km. Allow at least 12-16 weeks of preparation for your first HYROX.
How to Choose Your First Event?
Geographic Proximity
For your first race, avoid long trips. Travel stress adds to competition stress. Choose an event accessible by car or train.
Time of Year
Fall and winter races allow summer training. Spring races require more demanding winter preparation.
Event Size
Large events (Paris, London, Berlin) offer an electric atmosphere but can be intimidating. Smaller events are sometimes more welcoming for beginners.
