Ripon has no railway station. The nearest rail connection is Thirsk, around 15 minutes away by taxi, while Harrogate and Knaresborough provide rail-and-bus routes into the city. The number 36 bus connects Ripon with Harrogate and Leeds, and the number 22 links Ripon with York and Knaresborough. Ripon’s local circular services include RS1, RS2, RS3 and RS4. By car, the city is about five miles from Junction 50 of the A1(M), linking with the M1 and M62. Pay-and-display parking is available at Cathedral, The Arcade, St Marygate, Victoria Grove, Market Place and Marshall Way. Free parking is available at Blossomgate, with coach parking at Victoria Grove. Leeds Bradford Airport provides the nearest major air connection.
