Ripon has accommodation in and around the historic centre, with central areas including the Market Place, Kirkgate, North Street, Westgate and streets close to the cathedral. These locations contain small hotels, guesthouses, bed-and-breakfast establishments and pubs with rooms, alongside cafés, restaurants and historic attractions. Larger guesthouses appear around the Palace Road and Kirkby Road edges, where properties commonly include private parking. Accommodation outside the centre includes country inns, farmhouse bed-and-breakfasts, converted barns and self-catering properties in the surrounding villages and rural lanes. Caravan parks and additional bed-and-breakfast accommodation are available around North Stainley. The city therefore includes central rooms, traditional inns, independent guesthouses and rural stays across several accommodation settings.

Race Info

Ripon has no railway station. The 36 bus connects the city with Harrogate and Leeds, with Harrogate providing rail connections on routes towards Leeds and York. Thirsk and Northallerton are stations on the East Coast Main Line, with road connections onward to Ripon. By road, the A61 links Ripon with Harrogate, Leeds, Bedale and Northallerton, while the B6265 connects the city with Fountains Abbey. Leeds Bradford Airport is approximately 45 minutes away by car, and Manchester Airport is approximately two hours away. Local buses serve the city centre and surrounding communities, while services towards Fountains Abbey are limited. Central Ripon is compact and walkable, and taxis provide connections between the city, transport hubs and outlying venues. Market Place parking includes limited free stays.
