Stavanger is connected by air, road, rail, bus and ferry. Stavanger Airport, Sola, serves domestic and international flights and lies southwest of the city. Airport buses connect the terminal with central Stavanger, while local buses serve Sola and surrounding districts. Stavanger railway station is in the city centre and provides train connections along the Jæren Railway towards Sandnes, Bryne and Egersund, with longer-distance rail services to Oslo. The E39 is the principal road connection through the Stavanger area, and the E39 ferry link connects Mortavika with Arsvågen. Local buses operate throughout Stavanger, including routes serving the centre, Stavanger Øst, Våland, Eiganes and neighbouring municipalities.
