Stavanger is connected by air, rail, road, ferry and local bus services. Stavanger Airport, Sola, has direct flights to destinations in Norway and abroad. Airport shuttle buses connect the terminal with central Stavanger, while Kolumbus bus route 42 links the airport with Stavanger, Sola, Forus and Sandnes. Stavanger Station is the terminus of the railway from Oslo via Kristiansand, and local trains run between Stavanger and Egersund, serving stops including Sandnes and Mariero. Long-distance buses connect Stavanger with Oslo, Bergen and Kristiansand. By car, the city is reached through the E39 and regional roads from Sandnes, Kristiansand and Bergen.
